Information about deliveries from Wild Places Publishing

All our prices include delivery charges, but following ever-changing and excessive postage charges for international mail, we have removed the drop-down option showing the added cost of overseas postage. Please ask if you wish to have a specific quote for your order; we only add the difference in price between UK and overseas destinations.

With hugely increasing problems with paperwork and taxes applied to deliveries in the EU and USA, we have suspended posting to these regions (but see the additional note below). For further information on delivery times outside the UK, please follow the Delivery link at the bottom of each page.

Occasionally, some titles may not be available for overseas delivery when the size, weight, scarcity or value may make carriage difficult to arrange. If one of these books is of particular interest, please contact us and we will see what might be arranged.

Please note that we do not pay local taxes that may be due in your country; it is your responsibility to consider and pay these. Ordering any item indicates your acceptance to pay any charges due on delivery.

Additional note

Although we no longer despatch to the EU or USA, for the reasons given above, for any items that are really desirable within these regions, we can suggest an alternative.

A number of companies in the UK (and overseas) have made arrangements to ship goods and take care of the paperwork and taxes on behalf of individuals. While being clear that Wild Places has no association with any such company, an example is Forward2me:

https://www.forward2me.com

Creating an account is free, after which you can specify the destination country. In principle, you purchase your books and we despatch these to a UK address (forward2me or any other) and they ship this onwards, using your account, your payment and your supplied details. All such arrangements are under your control and you simply use their address with your account details for our delivery information. It is an option to consider, alongside the possible postage to someone you already know in the UK who will post items on for you.

We use Royal Mail for all our deliveries, unless it is large or heavy when we will use a courier. We try to post orders as soon as possible and at minimum every Thursday, though this may take longer if we are on expedition, for example. We are then reliant on Royal Mail for the timing of a delivery. These are not tracked (if you wish a tracked service, please enquire about the additional cost involved).

If your order is time-critical, please contact us before placing it and we will do our best to help. For further information on delivery times outside the UK, please follow the Delivery link at the bottom of each page.

Yes, you may choose a different address during checkout; this is perfect for sending a gift to someone else, or having your own order sent to a work address.

You will have set up your Invoice address during registration (this is usually your home address – your confirmation e-mails and invoice will be sent here, and this must match the address registered with your bank for your credit or debit card). You can add other addresses in My Account and select one of these to use for delivery, as you require.

We now only show delivery destinations outside the UK for new books from Wild Places. If you are interested in a second-hand book, for example, please Contact Us for a quote to cover the additional postage cost (we can also combine books in one postage charge).

Following Brexit and successive changes in the law, we have been forced to suspend all deliveries to the EU. These changes include increased documentation, requirements for employing an EU-based agent, paying local taxes on delivery and hugely increased costs of postage.

For similar reasons, with vastly increased costs, taxes and paperwork, all deliveries to the USA have also been suspended. For an alternative method of despatch, please see the FAQ 'Do you post internationally?'
